About Us

Student Association Of India is an organization by the student, for the students.

-A home away from home

The organization was founded with the aim of creating a cultural and harmonious home for students from India. We are constantly promoting the diverse festivals, cuisine, art, music from different states of India and are striving to break cultural stereotypes that are created over a period of time. Every bird has a nest where they feel safe and sound. While it is important to adapt to new cultures it is also crucial to not forget our roots and thus, we provide a way to stay connected with them by organizing different events and student involvement activities. We gear the events in such a way that welcomes students from different cultures and backgrounds.

We propose a pathway for everyone at UWM, to experience Indian Culture.

Our purpose is to provide an opportunity for Indian students to interact and share the joy of our culture and heritage and overcoming cultural shock by acclimating US culture. Student Association of India (SAI) aims in serving to promote the awareness of cultural diversity on campus by organizing engaging events. We understand it is very difficult to travel to the different countries being thousands of miles away from home and then adjust with a different lifestyle, climate, and language. So, keeping in mind these challenges, we came together to form the Student Association of India at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee to help students to overcome social, educational, and cultural shocks.

"Where there is righteousness in the heart, there is harmony in the house; when there is harmony in the house, there is order in the nation; when there is order in the nation, there is peace in the world"
